Ruthie King Callaway, of Fordyce, AR, formerly of Banks, AR, passed away January 31, 2010 at Dallas County Medical Center. She was born in Banks, AR on February 25, 1925 to the late Willis King and Amy Sessions King. In addition to her late parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband Lawrence Callaway who passed away in 1991; son-in-law- James Howard and a granddaughter- Reba Sue “Suzy” Howard; 3 sisters- Dorothy Boykin, Ruby Williams Golden, and Audrey Herron; sister-in-law- Annie Jones, who she loved and called her sister and nephew- Tim Clanton. Survivors are 2 daughters- Amy Howard of Pine Bluff and Becky Howard and John of Thornton, AR; 6 grandchildren- Jim Howard USAF Bagram Afghanistan, MSGT Jeff Howard USAF Retired of Long Beach, MS, Jennifer McCarty of Kingsland, AR, Julie Morris and Jeff of Pine Bluff, AR, Calinda Green and Gary of Fayetteville, AR, and John Howard and Dedy of Eagle Mills, AR; 10 great-grandchildren- Kristin Howard of Hattiesburg, MS, Dylan McCarty and Justin Morris of Pine Bluff, AR, Kailey Larkins, Shelby Green, and Wesley Green of Fayetteville, AR, Alec Hopkins, Montana Hopkins, Lainey Howard and John Waylon Howard- all of Eagle Mills, AR; 4 sisters- Ora Clanton and Wayne of Warren, AR, Betty Clements and Clyde of Pine Bluff, AR, Patsy Adcock and Wayne of Pine Bluff, AR, Helen Castleberry and Lamar of Pine Bluff, AR and numerous nieces and nephews. She also had 2 nephews- Billy Penick and Johnny Penick, who were very special to her and their wives- Alice and Irma. Funeral service was 10am, Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Linda Barrett was organist. Burial was in McFarland Cemetery at Banks by Frazer Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Kailey Larkins, John Wayne Howard, Jeff Howard, Jeff Morris, Curtis Hopper, Sheriff Joe Paul King, Dylan McCarty, Justin Morris, Waylon Howard, and Alec Hopkins. Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Clanton, Wayne Adcock, Clyde H. Clements, and Lamar Castleberry.
