James William Parnell, age 76, of Warren, Arkansas died Monday, December 20, at home. He was born April 25, 1928 at Gravelridge, Arkansas a son of the late Carl Edward Parnell and Florance Gorman Parnell. He received his education in the Bradley County Public School System and Arkansas A & M College. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was a retired chemist for Dow Chemical Company. Surviving is a son Mike Parnell, Tuscaloosa, Ala; a daughter Kathryn Sauvageau, Denison, Tex; a brother Cecil Parnell, Houston, Tex; 2 sisters Dorothy Taylor, Warren, Ark. and Cindy Booker, Monticello, Ark; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A stepson Donnie Jackson also preceded him in death. Funeral services were 10:00am Thursday, December 23, at Frazerís Chapel by Rev. Floyd Taylor and Rev. B. K. Harris. Janice Sullivan was the organist and Shaun Martin the soloist. Burial was in Gravelridge Cemetery near Hermitage by Frazerís Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Travis Ivey, Jimmy Taylor, Donnie Parnell, Jason Green, Kevin Taylor and Jerry Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Kerry F. Pennington, MD, Billy Ray Booker, Paul Cooper, Odell Wolfe, Gary Green, Horace Gilbert and Ed Green.
