Obituary:
Rev. Bobby Meggs, age 73, of Warren, AR died Wednesday December 2, 2009 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He was born December 10, 1935 in Warren, AR, a son of the late George T. Meggs and Melvina Lou McClain Meggs. Before his retirement, he served as a Baptist minister for Hermitage Baptist Church, Union Hill Baptist Church, Marsden Baptist Church and Moro Bay Baptist Church. He attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, AR and was a member of Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class. He graduated from Warren High School with the Class of 1953. Also, he was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University with a Bachelorís degree and obtained his Masterís degree from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. Preceding him in death were 4 sisters-Nora Orren, Lois Plunk, Lucy Nesbitt and Martel Meggs; infant twin brothers- George Meggs and Gerstel Meggs; 1 brother- Harvey Meggs. Survivors are 1 daughter- Rebecca Harris and spouse, Mike of Little Rock, AR; 1 sister- Ida Mae Kernaghan of Kansas City; 2 grandchildren-Michael Harris and Alex Harris of Little Rock, AR; Brother in Law- Buzzy Nesbitt of El Dorado, AR. Funeral service was 1:30pm Saturday, December 5 at Frazerís Chapel with Rev. Wayman Mann and Rev. Aaron Hulse officiating. Singers were Gary Plunk, Carlton Plunk, and Scott Snider. Organist was Linda Barrett. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazerís Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Gary Plunk, Carlton Plunk, Bobby Ray Nesbitt, Tommy Nesbitt, Terry Tucker, Matt Huitt, Sonny Bethea, Jimmy Ferguson, and Scott Wright. Honorary pallbearers were Marshall Colvin, Gerald Frisby, and George Kernaghan. Memorials are preferred:Ouachita Baptist University or Arkansas Baptist Childrenís Home; P.O. Box 552; Little Rock, AR 72203.
