Ruby Jane Rabun Temple, ďAunt RubyĒ, age 91, of Warren, AR, died Monday June 29, 2009 at Wagnon Place Nursing Home. She was born September 26, 1917 in Bradley County, AR, a daughter of the late George Rabun and Cynthia Davis Rabun. She was a homemaker, a charter member Lighthouse Church in Warren, AR and attended First Assembly of God Church in Monticello, AR. She was the widow of Vaders A. Temple, whom she married June 28, 1933 and he died October 16, 1980. Also, preceding her in death was a brother Jimmy Rabun, a half brother Daniel Rabun, sisters Hattie Harrod, Georgia Grace, Estelle Colvin and Margie Trussell. Even though she never had children of her own, she nurtured many nephews and nieces. Her home was a favorite gathering place for family and friends. Surviving is one step-son Xavier Temple and wife Joyce, Winnepeg, Manitoba, Canada. She was god-mother to Veronica Powers, daughter of the late Rev. Vernon Colvin and Annette. Other survivors are nieces and care-takers Annette Colvin, Charlene Clanton, Lillian Colvin, Rose Odom and Beverly Dowda and many other nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2, Frazerís Chapel with Rev. Vernon Colvin II, Rev. Kevin Powers and Rev. Alan Womack officiating. Singers were Christy Corker, Veronica Powers, and Bubba Colvin. Organist was Linda Barrett. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazerís Funeral Home. Active Pallbearers were Joel Colvin, Vernon Colvin III, Josh Dowda, Scott Corker, Randall Herring, Joe Lee Lassiter, and Joe Dowda. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Foscue, Dr. Pennington, Blackie Odom and Selvin Colvin.
