Roy Britt Halligan, age 83, of Warren, Arkansas died Friday, January 14, at Drew Memorial Hospital, Monticello. He was born January 13, 1922 in Warren, Arkansas a son of the late Britt H. Halligan and Sarah Estelle McKeown Halligan. He was a medic in the US Army during World War II, was a retired chip operator and knife grinder for Potlatch Corp, a farmer and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife Mae Etta Myres Halligan whom he married on August 8, 1942 at Warren; 2 daughters Brenda Stephens and spouse Lee, Little Rock, Ark. and Betty Chancellor and spouse Frank, Warren, Ark; 5 grandchildren Andrew Stephens and Allison Stephens both of Little Rock, Ark, Jonathan Stephens of Los Angeles, CA., Britt Chancellor and spouse Tanya, Warren, Ark. and Brian Chancellor and spouse Dena, Little Rock, Ark; 2 great grandchildren Will Chancellor and Caleb Chancellor both of Warren, Ark. A son Randall Britt Halligan also preceded him in death. Funeral services were 1:30 pm Sunday, January 16, at Frazerís Chapel by Rev. Ronald Neely and Rev. Jessie Bickers. Janice Sullivan was the organist and Cindy Stringfellow the soloist. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazerís Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Leland Bryant, DuWayne George, Grady Laster, Roger Miller, Jerry Woodall and Neill Thomason.
