Obituary:
Johnny R. Swinney, age 90, of Warren, Ark. died Thursday April 30, at Wagnon Place Nursing Home. He was born November 11, 1918 in Durant, MS., a son of the late Matthew Swinney and Ola Blanche Grantham Swinney. He was a retired powerhouse operator for Potlatch Corp, a member Harmony Freewill Baptist Church and a World War II US Army veteran. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers Matthew Swinney, Frank Swinney and J.J. Swinney. Survivors are his wife Cathleen Clark Swinney whom he married January 2, 1943; a daughter Judy Trent, Hensley, Ark., a sister Blanche Palmertree, Mt. Home, Ark; 2 grandsons and 3 great-granddaughters. Graveside services were 2:00 p.m. Sunday May 3, in Union Cemetery at Rye, Ark. by Rev. Victor Hunter and Rev. Tim Foreman. Pallbearers were Mark Sutton, Will Sutton, Gary Trent, Sr, Gary Trent, Jr, Buck Beasley and Donnie Beasley. Arrangments by Frazerís Funeral Home of Warren.
