Peter Burkhardt age 71, of Herbine, Ark. died Thursday, March 26th in Little Rock, Ark. He was born June 30th 1937 in Heidenhein, Germany a son of the late Karl Burkhardt and Maria Baur Burkhardt. He was a Bapitst, an employee with Sykes Oak Flooring which later became Armstrong Flooring as a machinist for 45 years. He is survived by his wife, Janet Rauls Burkhardt whom he married May 7, 1982 in Warren, Ark. 4 sons, Dale Smith and spouse Tanya, Warren; Michael Burkhardt and spouse Shannon, Mooringsport, La. Stephen McKinney and spouse Annette, Rye, Ark. and Tony Burkhardt and spouse Brittney, Warren, Ark. 2 daughters, Melinda Reed and spouse Ron, Tatum, TX and Stephanie Bigham and spouse Jon, Warren, Ark. 4 brothers, Jurgen Burkhardt, Gotz Burkhardt, Volker Burkhardt and Micha Burkhardt all of Germany. 2 sisters, Jutta Burkhardt and Brigitte Burkhardt both of Germany. 8 grandchildren. Funeral services were 2:00pm Sunday, March 29th , at Frazerís Chapel with Rev. Marty Reep officiating. Soloist was Gail Bigham. Organist was Linda Barrett. Active pallbearers were Mike Mercer, Wade McClain, Mark McClellan, Trent Saunders, David Leslie, and Bubba Gannaway. Honorary pallbearers were Rayburn Taylor and Johnny Bradford. Burial was in Prosperity Cemetery by Frazerís Funeral Home.

Message: I remember Peter very well. He took his evening meals with us when we lived on Pennington Rd. He was a good friend to my father(Herbert) and my father thought he was wonderful. While I was in Germany, I had the chance to visit his family and they were very glad to see me and treated us very well. He will be missed by us and those in my family.
