William Mansfield Godfrey

William Mansfield Godfrey, age 92, of Johnsville, Arkansas died Friday, Dec 5, at Bradley County Medical Center. He was born May 1, 1916 in Bradley County, Arkansas a son of the late Jasper Godfrey and Fannie Hamilton Godfrey. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II serving in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe, a farmer, a Baptist, an avid hunter and fisherman and a life long member of Carpenters Local 690. Surviving is his wife Edna Hazel Edwards Godfrey whom he married on August 30, 1942; a daughter Nina Kay Outlaw and spouse James, Crossett, Ark; 3 grandchildren Todd Outlaw and spouse Ashley, Conway, Ark, Tim Outlaw and spouse Leslie, Hamburg, Ark and Ben Outlaw, Waldron, Ark; 4 great-grandchildren Mallori and Maci Outlaw, Hamburg, Ark, Lydia Grace Outlaw and Caroline Outlaw, Conway, Ark. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers Thomas Godfrey, Lee Godfrey and Odell Godfrey and 5 sisters Ellen Calloway, Nora Phillips, Gracie Campbell, Lula Jones and Abbie Baker. Funeral services were 1:30pm Sunday, December 7, at Frazerís Chapel with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Linda Barrett was organist and soloist Leslie Outlaw. Burial with flag presentation ceremony was in Pattsville Cemetery near Warren by Frazerís Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Todd Outlaw, Tim Outlaw, Ben Outlaw, Harold Tucker, Ricky Riley, Mickey Cathey and Charles Ferrell.
