Obituary:
Lois J. McKinney, age 92, of Rye, AR. died Wednesday November 19, at Wagnon Place Nursing Home. Born April 17, 1916 in Cleveland County, AR., a daughter of the late Lush H. Curry and Della Mae Taylor Curry she was a homemaker, co owner McKinney Grocery, member Harmony Freewill Baptist Church and the widow of George William “Jack” McKinney who died August 12, 1989. They were united in marriage December 14, 1940. Also, preceding her in death was a daughter Jacqueline McKinney, brothers Ned Curry, Dick Curry, Lee Curry, Lester Curry, sisters Oma Edwards, Mabel Lyons, grandchild Shay Johnson. Survivors are 2 daughters Rachel Ashcraft and spouse Steve, Rye, AR., Janet Johnson and spouse Evan, Baton Rouge, LA. Brother in law Preston McKinney, Warren, AR. Sister in law Geneva Curry, Rye, AR. 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Friday November 21, Union United Methodist Church, Rye, AR. with Rev. Brian Ashcraft officiating. Music was by Tully McCoy and Melinda Ashcraft. Burial was in Union Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Billy Willoughby, Scott Ashcraft, Clayton Ashcraft, Wesley Ashcraft, Robert Lephiew, Craig Ashcraft.
