Obituary:
Loyd B. Morgan, age 81, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas died Thursday, September 25, at JRMC. He was born May 15, 1927 in Ingalls, Ark. a son of the late Lee Benjamin Morgan and Jose Hamilton Morgan. He served in the U. S. Army, was a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church and the owner and operator of Morgan Tree Service. He is survived by his wife Vertie Kelley Morgan whom he married in July of 1965; 4 sons Steve Phillips and spouse Judy, Kelley Lee Morgan and spouse Lori and Stanley Morgan and spouse Vickie all of Pine Bluff, Ark. and Loyd “Benny” Morgan, Jr. and spouse Mary Camden, Ark; 4 daughters Martha Canada and spouse Darrel and Karen Canada and spouse Larrel all of Camden, Ark, Cathy Morgan, Holly Springs, Ark. and Michelle Leyva and spouse Jose, Tampa, Fla; 2 brothers Doyle Morgan and Jerry Morgan, Pineville, La; 1 sister Charlotte Pinkerton, Jessieville, Ark; 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services were 4:00pm Monday, Sept 29, at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church near Glendale, Ark. with Rev. Michael Powell and Rev. David Tyndall officiating. Burial with flag presentation ceremony was in Shady Grove Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren. Active pallbearers were Bubba Humphrey, Billy Wiegand, Randy Neal, David Milhourn, Ralph Carter, Jose Leyva and Charlie Reed.
