Jeanette Banister Gibbs, age 79, of Warren, Arkansas died Thursday, February 17, at St Vincent’s Infirmary, Little Rock. She was born January 3, 1926 at Gould, Arkansas a daughter of the late Coval Norton Banister and Lillian Cholista Butcher Banister. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Warren and the co-owner of Gannaway Drug store. In November of 1947 she married Joe Hal Gibbs and he died March 28, 1974. Surviving are 2 daughters Mary Gibbs Reeves, Nashville, Tenn. And Peggy Gibbs Reeve, Memphis, Tenn.; 2 sisters Elizabeth “Sis” Bayliss, Warren, Arkansas and twin sister Joan Norton, Springfield, Mo; 2 grandchildren Nicholas Anderson Reeves, Nashville, Tenn. And Jordan Alexa Reeve, Memphis, Tenn. A special friend and companion Charles A. “Chuck” Milton and 3 brothers Paul Banister, Norton Banister and Darrell Banister also preceded her in death. Memorial services were 10:00 am Saturday, February 19, at First United Methodist Church by Rev Siegfried Johnson. Pattie Richmond Davis and Willie Atkins were the lay speakers. Mary Lou Martin was the organist and Tom McBee sang. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren. Pallbearers were Charles Moseley, Chris Moseley, Andy Echlin, Harold Hardwick, Butch Price, Robert C. “Bob” Milton, Steve Reeves and Dennie Reeves. Memorials preferred to the Warren YMCA Foundation or the animal shelter of your choice.
