Rachel Lanelle Mitchell Nicholson, age 87, of Warren, AR. joined the Lords Heavenly Choir Tuesday January 15, at Wagnon Place Nursing Home. Born January 1, 1921 in Warren, Ar. a daughter of the late Almond Haygood Mitchell and Leona Coon Mitchell she was a homemaker, member First Assembly of God Church and the widow of William Cecil Nicholson. Survivors 1 son Lawrence Dale Nicholson and spouse Pat, Little Rock, Ar., 1 brother Almond Haygood Mitchell, Warren, AR. 2 grandchildren Kelli Nicholson Miller, Little Rock, AR., Lawrence Dale Nicholson, Jr., Norfolk, Va. 5 great-grandchildren Lawrence Dale Nicholson, III, Little Rock, Ar., Winston Paul Nicholson, Dallas, Tx., Davis Lee Nicholson, Frisco, Tx., Cameryn Miller and Meredith Miller both of Little Rock, AR. Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Friday January 18, First Assembly of God Church Warren,AR. with Rev. Jim Bales officiating. Organist was Georgia Jones and pianist was Shirley Outlaw. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazerís Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were W.T. Outlaw, R.P. Outlaw, Bill Jones, Dale Nicholson, III., Davis Nicholson and Winston Nicholson. Message: I remember Ms. Rachel from when I was a young girl and attended First Assembly of God church on York St. with my mother Reba Clanton. Ms. Rachel always looked so pretty and serene. She was faithful to the church and played the piano so beautifully as she accompanied the choir. She was the positive role-model of a christian woman to this young girl.
