Ruth McKinney Gavin, age 90, of Warren, AR. died Tuesday December 25, in Hot Springs, AR. Born February 15, 1917 in Cleveland County, AR. a daughter of the late Nick McKinney and Mildred Childress McKinney she was a retired farmer, clerk, homemaker and a Freewill Baptist. She married Havis “Snow” Gavin December 2, 1932 and he died December 2, 1984. Also, preceding her in death was a son Harvy Kenneth Gavin, daughter Sally Annette Williams, brothers Versel McKinney, Cloise McKinney, Lewis McKinney, Gaston McKinney, Doyle McKinney, Wilson McKinney, a grandchild Dennis Williams. Survivors 1 son Jearl Gavin, Warren, AR., 2 daughters Earline Gavin Johnson and spouse Donald, Hot Springs, AR., Joen Gavin Bryant, Warren, AR., 3 brothers Robert McKinney, Seattle, WA., Winford McKinney, Sumpter, AR., Clifton McKinney, Warren, AR. 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services were 10:00 a.m. Saturday December 29, Union Cemetery Rye, AR., with Dr. Wayman Mann Officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Klay McKinney, Randy McKinney, Jimmy McKinney, Nicky McKinney, Ted McKinney and John Lansdale. Honorary Pallbearer was James Kitchens. Memorials preferred Bradley County Veterans Museum, 210 N. Main St., Warren, AR. 71671.
