Mary Hurley Gray Lee of Fallbrook, California and formerly of Warren, Arkansas and Estherville, Iowa passed away Tuesday December 4, at the age of 96. She was born March 12, 1911 in Warren, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Joseph Boyd Hurley and Eula Garrison Hurley and was the last surviving child of the Hurley’s, a pioneer Bradley County family. She was a graduate of Warren High School and Christian College, Columbia, Missouri. After completing her education she was an elementary teacher in the Warren area and assisted with youth activities at the First Presbyterian Church. She married Paul Garnett Gray on June 24, 1937 in Warren. The couple made their home in Estherville, Iowa where she continued to be active in the Presbyterian Church, serving as a trustee and an elder. She was also active in the work of the Holy Family Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of P.E.O. Mr. Gray was associated with his father in the P.G. Gray Produce Company. Mr. Gray died on December 8, 1957. On July 28, 1973, Mary Hurley Gray and Robert N. Lee were married and Mr. Lee died on December 23, 1987. Surviving her is her son, Paul G. Gray and wife, Patti of Piedmont, Calif. and daughters, Elizabeth Bucher and husband, David of Fallbrook, Calif. and Mary Alice Dunscombe and husband, Tom of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by three stepsons, Joseph Robert Lee and wife, Rosemary, Huntsville, Ala., James Montgomery Lee and wife, Sandy, Dover, Del., and Nelson John Lee and wife, Lia, Larkspur, Calif. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her five brothers, Laurence Hurley, Curtis Hurley, Joe Boyd Hurley, Jr., James Edward Hurley and Wallace Hurley and her sister Patricia Hurley Roddey. Memorial services were at the First Presbyterian Church at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday December 8 by Frazer’s Funeral Home.Memorials may be sent to the Presbyterian Church; 212 E.
