Jimmy Johnson, age 70, of Hermitage, Arkansas died Friday, August 24, at John L. McClellan Veterans Hospital, Little Rock. He was born April 4, 1937 in Bradley County, Arkansas a son of the late Jim Bead Johnson and Ruth Lansdale Johnson. He received his education in the Hermitage Public School System, served in the US Marine Corp from 1954 to 1959 and was a painter. Surviving is his spouse Jackie Gail Ezell Johnson whom he married on July 14, 1963; 1 son Allen Johnson and spouse Tanya, Banks, Ark; 2 daughters Tracie Richard and spouse Russell, Hermitage, Ark. and Lisa Higgins and spouse Brent, Warren, Ark; 1 brother Jack Carroll Johnson and spouse Peggy, Wilmar, Ark; 5 grandchildren Wesley Richard, Chaney Richard, Lane Richard, Dillan Higgins and Alyssa Higgins. He was also preceded in death by a half brother Everett Johnson and a sister Rosie Jarrett. Funeral services were 10:00am Monday, August 27, at Frazerís Chapel with Rev. Loren Strickland and Rev. Ricky Smith officiating. Linda Barrett was organist and soloist was Dottie Smith. Burial with flag presentation ceremony was in Union Hill Cemetery at Ingalls by Frazerís Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were David Dees, Linwood Dees, Danny Howard, Tony Howard, James E. Smith and James Johnston. Memorials preferred to the Bradley County Veterans Museum.
