Esper Forrest McGhee, age 94, of Hermitage, Arkansas died Thursday, April 26, at Wagnon Place Nursing Home. She was born October 5, 1912 in Bradley County, Arkansas a daughter of the late Caleb Forrest and Lottie Standard Forrest. She was a member of Palestine United Methodist Church and a retired houseparent at Arkansas Baptist Home for Children at Monticello. She married Willie Verna McGhee on April 4, 1931 and he died May 8, 1963. Surviving is a son Bobby McGhee, Hermitage, Ark; a daughter Joan Ferguson, Wilmar, Ark; a brother Roscoe Forrest, Warren, Ark; 3 sisters Masell Johnson, Warren, Ark, Maggie Harrod, Gurdon, Ark. and Alma Hall, Sherwood, Ark; 7 grandchildren David McGhee, Mark Ferguson and Leah McGhee all of Hermitage, Ark, Gail Bigham, Warren, Ark, Donna Noble, Monticello Ark, Michelle Carter, Wilmar, Ark and Ken Ferguson, South Haven, Miss; 16 great grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers Luke Forrest, Kirby Forrest and Felton Forrest; a sister Bernice Trussell and a great-grandchild Martin Ferguson. Funeral services were 2:00pm Sunday April 29, at Frazerís Chapel by Rev. Wayman Mann and Rev. Mark Ferguson. Linda Barrett was the organist and sonny Bethea and Melvin Mills sang. Burial was in Palestine Cemetery at Johnsville by Frazerís Funeral Home of Warren. Active pallbearers were Mark Ferguson, Ken Ferguson, David McGhee, Doug Bigham, Jeremy Ferguson and Jason Carter. Honorary pallbearers were the Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Hermitage.
