William Evan Jones, age 92, of Warren, Arkansas died Wednesday, March 21, at Bradley County Memorial Hospital. He was born February 4, 1915 a son of the late Chester Jones and Ella Hickman Jones. He served in the 316 Station Hospital, US Army serving in England, Belgium, France and the Caulglen Hospital, Glasgow. Scotland during World War II. He was a retired farmer and carpenter-cabinet maker for Milburn Mobley Contractor and J. C. Mosley Cabinet Shop and a member of First Assemby of God Church. He married Verniece Grider Jones on December 24, 1936 and she died November 19, 2002. Surviving is a daughter Linda Drewry and spouse Coy, Little Rock, Ark; 1 brother Hollis Jones, Hermitage, Ark; 1 sister Reba Senn, Hermitage, Ark; a grandson Brian Drewry and 3 great-grandchildren Will Drewry, Caroline Drewry and Claire Drewry all of Greenbrier, Ark. He was preceded in death by a brother Guy Jones and a sister Orlean Outlaw. Funeral service were 2:00pm Friday, March 23, at Frazerís Chapel by rev. Jim Bales and Rev. Wayman Mann. Linda Barrett was the organist. Burial was in Outlaw Cemetery at Sumpter by Frazerís Funeral Home of Warren. Active pallbearers were Bill Jones, David Mann, Jody Mann, Jimmy Baker, W. T. Outlaw, R. P. Outlaw, Doyle Mann and Doyle Gill. Honorary pallbearers were Felton Jones, Levan Outlaw, Roger Grider, Larry Mann, Jerry Castleberry, Robert Hickman, John Hickman and Roy Baker.
