Marcelle Johnson Wood, age 77, of Warren, Arkansas died Thursday, February 1, at Baptist Medical Center, Little Rock. She was born February 3, 1929 at Gravelridge, Arkansas a daughter of the late Elgan Taylor Johnson and Drusie Savage Johnson. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a former co-owner of Warren Printing Company. She married Harold Ray Wood on July 20, 1946 and he died August 6, 1991. Surviving is a son David Wood and spouse Gail Arnold, Magnolia, Ark; 2 daughters Kay Wood Sharp and spouse Bill, Collierville, Tenn. and Connie Wood Stewart and spouse Lynn, Springdale, Ark; 2 brothers Hershel Johnson, Warren, Ark and Levin Johnson and spouse Sue, Monticello, Ark; 2 sisters Lavelle Lavigne, Warren, Ark and Joann Stuart and spouse James Carroll, Jacksonville, Ark; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. 2 brothers Haggard Johnson and Elvis Tracy Johnson and a sister Ginger Culpepper also preceded her in death. Funeral services were 1:30pm Saturday, February 3, at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Jenkins officiating. Testimonials were given by David Wood and Charles OíNeal. Ruth Lephiew was pianist, Pam Wharton was organist, soloist were David Wood, Karen Black, Bob Haygood and the Immanuel Baptist Church Choir sang. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazerís Funeral Home of Warren. Active pallbearers were Brad Sharp, Jonathan Wood, Drew Stewart, Cory Stewart, Stan McDonald, Aaron Black and Corey McGaha. Honorary pallbearers were Deacons of Immanuel Baptist Church.
