Captain James “Peg” Harrell, age 85, of Harrell, Arkansas died Wednesday, November 15, at Bradley County Medical Center. He was born February 24, 1921 at Harrell, Arkansas a son of the late Sterling Van Harrell and Minnie Mae Parker Harrell. He was a World War II U S Army veteran, a graduate of Harrell High School, a member of Harrell United Methodist Church and a retired Captain of the Arkansas Highway Police with 30 years of service. Survivors include 14 nieces and nephews; a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews and a special friend Ruby Thomason, Harrell, Ark. Proceeding him in death were 2 wives Mary B. Harrell and Eula Davis Harrell; 3 brothers Charles Harrell, Roy Harrell and Sterling “Ham” Harrell and 3 sisters Mildred Trotter, Katie Sue Jones and Mollie Johnson and a niece. Funeral services were 1:30pm Friday, November 17, at Harrell United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Lucas and Rev. Ricky Smith officiating. Jackson Jones was organist. Burial with flag presentation ceremony was in Dickinson Cemetery near Harrell by Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren. Active pallbearers were Noel Thomason, Herman Thomason, Jarrod Thomason, Jeremy Martin, Chuck Watson, Josh Trotter, Jon Bigham and Doug Bigham. Memorials preferred to the Harrell United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 314, Harrell, Arkansas 71745.
