Dortha Mae Trammell Thompson, age 84, of Star City, (formerly of Warren, AR.) died Monday October 16, at Star City Nursing Center in Star City, AR. Born May 9, 1922 in Cleveland County, AR. a daughter of the late Benjamin Crockett Trammell and Leatha Rodgers Trammell she was the former owner/operator of Thompson Grocery in New Edinburg, a homemaker, a Baptist and the widow of Lewis “Tip” Thompson who died January 12, 1984. They were united in marriage August 15, 1936. Also, preceding her in death was a son Dewey “Buddy” Thompson, brother Rufus Trammell, a sister Ruth Threlkeld, 2 infant sons and an infant daughter. Survivors are 1 son Kenneth Thompson of Hensley, AR. 2 daughters Janice Crosswhite of Monticello, AR. and Rhonda Thompson of Star City, AR. A half sister Evelyn Pheleps of Farmerville, LA. 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Friday October 20, Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Cecil Sanders and Rev. Billy Wilson officiating. Janice Sullivan was organist and soloist were Karen Thompson and Jimmy Pennington. Burial was in Reaves Cemetery near New Edinburg, AR. by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Bo McClellan, Mark McClellan, Vester Thompson, Darnell Crosswhite, Michael Cade, Tommy Green, John McClellan and glen Crosswhite. Honorary pallbearers were C.J. Rice, Dillan Rice, Jr. Rice and Donnie Wagnon.
