Sue Hoyle Hoffman

Sue Hoyle Hoffman, born in Banks, Arkansas, December 17, 1917 died May 9, 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert L and Ida Gibson Hoyle, sisters Ruth and Evelyn, brothers Charles and Martin, her husband William (Bill) Hoffman and her son Thomas G. Hoffman. She is survived by her daughter Susie and husband Jim Henley, and grandson Drew Henley, all of Little Rock and her brother William Hoyle of Warren. Sue graduated from Warren High School in l935 and married William Hoffman in l940. Married for nearly 65 years, they made homes in Warren, El Dorado and Forrest City before returning to Warren to retire in l984. Sue and Bill moved to Little Rock in 2004. Sue was a life long Methodist and active member of the United Methodist Women wherever she lived. She was also a member of the Junior Auxiliary and she and her husband were founding members of the Warren Country Club. Devoted to her husband and children, she gladly followed and supported them wherever they went and in whatever they did. Always plucky and spirited, she struck out alone in her for California to follow Bill during World War II and spent untold hours at ball games, practices and recitals for her children.. Some of her happiest moments were fishing with her family at their cabin at Godfrey’s Landing on the Saline River. Graveside services were will be 11:00am Friday, May 12, at Oakland Cemetery in Warren conduced by Rev. John Kidwell. Active pallbearers were Kevin Hoyle, Tommy Burrow, Raymond Scogin, Rodney Parnell and Ernest M. Johnson. Special thanks to go to her caregivers at Parkway Health Center in Little Rock.
