Gerald Ray “Jerry” Johnson, age 68, of Warren, Arkansas died Saturday, April 29, at Bradley County Medical Center. He was born May 9, 1937 in Corpus Christi, Texas a son of Ernest Johnson and stepmother Lafreda, Hamburg, Arkansas and Maple Inez Munskis, Dayton, Tex. He was a member of Farmville Missionary Baptist Church and a self employed painting contractor. Surviving other than his father, mother and stepmother is his wife Carrie Long Johnson whom he married on May 29, 1991 at Farmville, Ark; 1 son Gerald Johnson, Jr., Warren, Ark; 3 daughters Becki Hooks and spouse Russell, Hermitage, Ark, Joan Johnson Warren, Ark. and Renee Pennington and spouse Jason, Banks, Ark; 4 brothers Ernest Donnell “Donnie” Johnson, Kenefick, Tex, Richard “Ricky” Johnson and Cory Johnson both of Cleveland, Tex. and Joshua “Josh” Johnson, Woodland, Tex; 1 sister Joyce Kingkaid, Seabrook, Tex; 3 grandchildren Bobby Pennington, Banks, Ark, Jeremiah Johnson, Hermitage, Ark. and Amanda Rhodes, Warren, Ark; his best friend his dog Nicodemis. A sister Helen Johnson Fingleman also preceded him in death. Funeral services were 4:00pm Monday, May 1, at Frazer’s Chapel by Rev. Gene Boyette and Rev. John Kidwell. Janice Sullivan was the organist and Alton Jay Forrest and Howard Calvert sang. Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Warren by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Gerald “Buba’ Johnson, Jr, Justin Thompson, Laron Evans, Chris Perry, Tiny Robinson, Hank Kucia, Josh York and Danny York. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Joe H. Wharton, MD, Dr. Calvin Jacks, MD, Jerrell Parkman, gene Medlin, Bob Thompson, Bro. Mike Wallace, Buddy Martin and Charles Martin.
