Donald Gene “Hoppy” McDougald, age 70, of Hermitage, Arkansas died Thursday, April 6, at JMRC, Pine Bluff. He was born June 9, 1935 at Bastrop, Louisiana a son of the late Clyde McDougald and Ressie Hollingsworth McDougald. He was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and a self employed person. Surviving is his wife Sharon Ostrander McDougald whom he married on June 10, 1961 at Gravelridge, Arkansas; 1 son Donnie McDougald, Grady, Ark; 1 daughter Machelle Temple and spouse James, Johnsville, Ark; 1 brother Harry McDougald, Manning. La; 2 sisters Betty Smith, Jersey, Ark. and Catherine Gardner, Hampton, Ark; 3 grandchildren Misty temple, Johnsville, Ark, Laken Hathcock, Little Rock, Ark and Jeff Thomas, Crossett, Ark; 1 great granddaughter. A son James Edward McDougald, a brother Charles McDougald and a grandson Joey Temple also preceded him in death. Funeral services were 2:00pm Sunday, April 9, at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Gravelridge by Rev. David Inzer and Rev. Don Smith. Lavern Myers Freeman played and Charles Cauley sang. Burial was in Gravelridge Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Jim Gardner, Bob Lynn, Joe Dale Reynolds, Terry Reynolds, Randy Gates, Jerry Lynn Hollingsworth, Mark Hollingsworth and Sambo Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Smith, Johnny Vann, Rusty McDougald, Shannon McDougald, Dr. Kerry Franklin Pennington, MD and David McDougald.
