Elbert A. “Bud” Parker, age 83, of New Edinburgh, Arkansas died Saturday, March 25, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Pine Bluff. He was born June 29, 1922 in Cleveland County, Arkansas a son of the late Charlie Parker and Inez McKinzie Parker. He was a World war II US Army Air Corp veteran, a member and deacon of Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church and a retired machinist for Potlatch Corporation. Surviving is his wife Elizabeth Dyer Parker whom he married on June 28, 1947; 1 son Buddy Parker and spouse Frances, New Edinburgh, Ark; 2 daughters Paulette Norman and spouse Wayne, New Edinburg, Ark and Lynette Mitchell and spouse Bruce, Rison, Ark; 2 sisters Lizzie Mae Martin, New Edinburgh, Ark and Geneva Myers, Gaylord, Mich; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. 3 brothers John Parker, Roy Lee Parker and Miles Edward Parker and a sister Elvie Marks also preceded him in death. Funeral services were 2:00pm Monday, March 27, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Billy Wilson officiating. Karen Thompson was pianist and Jimmy Pennington soloist. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery near New Edinburgh by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Danny Thompson, Wayne Sanders, Marshall Parker, Ricky Sanders, Damon Parker and Floyd Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Erwin Dyer, Herbert Moring, Henry Jones, Leon Trammell, Rev. Elbert McClellan, Dr. Kerry Pennington and Aubrey Huddleston.
