Hurley Gaston Hargis age 76 of Hermitage, Arkansas died Tuesday, October 18, at Bradley County Medical Center. Born May 22, 1929 in Ingalls, Arkansas; a son of the late Christopher C. “Lum” Hargis and Lela Maude Kitchell Hargis. He was a mechanic, car salesman and a Baptist. Also, preceding him in death were brothers Cleo Hargis, Carl Prather Hargis and a sister Ruthie Mae Jackson. Surviving is his wife Nina Dell Myers Hargis whom he married December 16, 1950. 3 sons Marl Gaston Hargis; New Edinburg, AR.; Hurley Wendell Hargis; Dennard, AR.; and Drew Stephen Hargis; Hermitage, AR. 2 daughters Marcia Karen Henderson; Mayflower, AR.; Beverly June Smith: Warren, AR. 1 brother Rev. Klois L. Hargis; Hamburg, AR. 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 2.00 pm Thursday, October 20, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Wayman Mann and Rev. Klois L. Hargis officiating. Janice Sullivan was organist and Travis Ivey and Danny Ivey sang. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Drew Hargis, Wendell Hargis, Marl Hargis, David Smith, Jimmy Hargis, Wyatt Jackson and Dusty Byrd.
