Herbert McKinney, age 78, of Warren, Arkansas, died Friday, August 12, at Bradley County Medical Center. He was born January 8, 1927 in Warren, Arkansas, a son of the late Columbus Edward McKinney and Ollie Englehart McKinney. He was a US Army veteran of World War II, a member of First United Methodist Church, the Warren Lions Club and was the retired owner of McKinney Shoe Company. Surviving is his wife Eva Nell Baker McKinney whom he married on August 20, 1948 at Warren, Ark; 1 son Bryce McKinney ands spouse Ruby, Hermitage, Ark; 2 daughters Susie McKinney Simmons and spouse Steve, Crossett, Ark. and Mary Kaye McKinney Cook and spouse Steve, Little Rock, Ark; 1 brother Claude McKinney, Warren, Ark; 6 grandchildren Susan Simmons Martinelli and spouse Anthony, Stephanie Simmons Banks and spouse Shannon, Samantha McKinney, Staff Sergeant B. J. McKinney and spouse Jessica, Lisa Gail McKinney Rosenthal and Melanie Cook; 7 great grandchildren Steven Martinelli, Anna Martinelli, Hannah Elizabeth Banks, Elisa Hicks, Ashton McKinney, Caleb Sullivan and Danyel Sullivan. A brother Glenn McKinney and 4 sisters Bernice McKinney Miller, Alline McKinney, Helen McKinney and Pauline McKinney also preceded him in death. Funeral services were 4:00pm Sunday, August 14, at Frazerís Chapel with Rev. Siegfried Johnson and Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Janice Sullilvan was organist and soloist was Ellen Harrod. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazerís Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Zachary Burks, David McKinney, Doyle Ozment, Bob Milton, Tim Sandridge, Dr. Joe H. Wharton, Rodney Parnell. Honorary pallbearers were Dick Ferguson, Dr. Kerry Pennington, Dr. James W. Marsh, Boyd Sanders, Alex Sanders, Nick Sanders, David Shockley, Brett Shockley, Harry Stevens, Vance Sipes, Fishermanís Sunday School Class at First Methodist Church. Memorials preferred to First United Methodist Church, the Warren Lions Club or the Bradley County Veterans Museum.
