Hazel Godwin Baker, age 89 of Warren, Arkansas died Thursday, May 26, at Bradley County Medical Center. She was born August 28, 1915 at Warren, Arkansas a daughter of the late Mitchell Godwin and Lura Grubbs Godwin. She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She married Jimmie Grady Baker on April 5, 1933 and he died March 11, 1986. Surviving are 6 daughters Gail Johnson, Warren, Ark, Kay Curry and spouse Donald, Rye, Ark, Linda Warrick and spouse Donald, Atlanta, Tex, Margaret Baker Black, North Little Rock, Ark, Jane Pierce and spouse Carl, Little Rock, Ark and Cookie Arendt and spouse Tommy, Rogers, Ark; 1 brother Pete Godwin, Warren Ark; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. 3 brothers Thad Godwin, Bill Godwin and Kenneth Godwin also preceded her in death. Funeral services were 10:00am Saturday, May 28, at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Don Nicholson and Hugh Allen Quimby officiating. Janice Sullivan was pianist and soloist Linda Warrick. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazerís Funeral Home. Active pallbeares were Jake Arendt, Mark Curry, David Johnson, Baker Johnson, Dennis Tooke and Thad Godwin, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Deacons of Immanuel Baptist Church. Memorials preferred to Bradley County Medical Center Benevolent Fund or Arkansas Childrenís Hospital.
