Obituary:
Derrel Dewayne Ozment, age 81, of Sumpter, AR, died Wednesday, February 13, 2019, in El Dorado, AR. He was born May 5, 1937, in Sumpter, AR, a son of the late Bernice Oleta Ozment and William Burl Brown, Sr. Derrel was retired from the U.S. Air Force, former owner/operator of Ozment Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, and Piggly Wiggly. He was a member of the Saline Baptist Church. Also preceding him in death was a son Richard Ozment, a daughter Debra Alexander, brothers Harry Brown and Victor Brown, sisters Maxine Doss, Evelene Ozment, Bethelene Milholland, and Sue Durey, and his grandparents Bob and Emma Ozment. Survivors are his wife Brenda Curry Ozment who he married September 23, 1977. Two sons Bobby Ozment of Sumpter, AR, and Charles Johnson and spouse Wendy of Fayetteville, GA. Two daughters Connie Ozment Gill and spouse John of Memphis, TN, and Cindy Johnson of Sumpter, AR. Two brothers Johnny Brown and spouse Kay of Bentonville, AR, and Burl Brown and spouse Judy of Fairfield Bay, AR. One sister Linda Durey and spouse Morris of Wilmar, AR. His mother in law Lurene Curry Brown of Hermitage, AR. Eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral service was 1:30 p.m. Sunday, February 17, at Frazerís Chapel with Rev. Tim Saunders and Rev. Billy Biggs officiating. Linda Barrett was organist. Burial was in Outlaw Cemetery by Frazerís Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Daniel Sellers, Daniel Rice, Aaron Pennington, Curtis Sellers, Richard Payton Sellers, and Chris Biggs. Honorary pallbearers were Brian Pennington, John Ross Gill, Timothy Payne, William Johnson, Wesley Johnson, Mary Haynes, Wayne Griffin, and Steve Parnell.
