Obituary:
John Thelbert Stedman, age 90, of Austin, AR, died Monday, January 28, 2019, at St. Vincentís North in Sherwood, AR. He was born February 26, 1928, in Johnsville, AR, a son of the late John Wesley Stedman and Hazel Rodgers Stedman. He was a World War II Army veteran serving as a paratrooper, a retired building manager for Simmons First National Bank, a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, a former district governor for Lions Clubs, and was active in World Services For the Blind. Also preceding him in death was his wife Ruby Lynn Stephenson Stedman who he married July 12, 1947, a daughter Judy Stedman, a brother Wilburn Daniel Stedman, and sisters Laverne Cornish and Mary Dean Castleberry. Survivors are one daughter Peggy Eddy and spouse Darrell of Cabot, AR. Two sisters Zula Mae Johnson and Brucelle George both of Warren, AR. Nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and eight great-greatgrandchildren. Graveside service was 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 1, at Greenhill Cemetery with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Arrangements were by Frazerís Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were John Kenneth Holland, John George, Chad Eddy, Dewayne Eddy, Corey Hornaday, and Danny Stedman. Memorials are preferred to World Services for the Blind, 2811 Fair Park Boulevard, Little Rock, AR, 72204.
