Roy Lee “Bant” Parker, age 89. of New Edinburg, Arkansas died Sunday, March 21, at Wagnon Place Nursing Home. He was born October 2, 1914 in Cleveland County, Arkansas a son of the late Charlie Parker and Virginia Inez McKenzie Parker. He served in the U S Army during World War II, was a retired carpenter and a member of the Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife Lois Trammell Parker whom he married on August 9, 1941; 2 sons Bobby Lee Parker, Sheridan, Ark and Myles Parker, Wilmar, Ark.; 1 daughter Deborah Saunders, Warren, Ark.; 1 brother Elbert Alexander Parker, New Edinburg, Ark.; 2 sisters Lizzie Mae Martin, New Edinburg, Ark. and Geneva Myers, Florida; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Ila Mavis Brown; 2 brothers John Marion Parker and Miles Edward Parker and 1 sister Elvie Marks Dyer. Funeral services were 1:30 pm Tuesday, March 23, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Victor Hunter and Rev. Cecil Sanders officiating. Janice Sullivan was organist. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery near New Edinburg by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Chuck Brown, Bill Brown, Jr., Jake Hunter, Kevin Ashcraft, Tony Usry, Curt Saunders, Jeff Parker and Junior Parker. Honorary pallbearers were Rev. Elbert McClellan and nephews.
