Robert Troy “Dick” Rodgers, age 97, of Sumpter, Arkansas died Monday, May 3, at BCMC. He was born February 20, 1907 at Sumpter, Arkansas a son of the late George Dan Rodgers and Nancy Ardella Senn Rodgers. He was a retired maintenance employee of Arkansas Louisiana Gas Company and a member of Martin Chapel United Methodist Church. He married Alice Annie Beasley Rodgers on December 23, 1925 at Warren, Arkansas and she died December 21, 1994. Surviving is a son Daniel Ladane Rodgers, Leewood, Kan; 1 daughter Katrina Baker, Ingalls, Ark; 1 sister Hazel Stedman, Warren, Ark; 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Funeral services were 2pm Thursday, May 6, at Frazer’s Chapel by Rev. Wayman Mann and Rev. Alton Peel. Janice Sullivan was the organist, the Union Hill Gospel Messengers sang and Rev. Guylan Pall was in charge of the graveside service. Burial was in Outlaw Cemetery at Sumpter by Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren. Active pallbearers were Donald Stuard, Toy Baker, Steve Parnell, Kevin Parnell, Hugh Allen Beasley, Ken Thornton, bobby Ray Wilson and Winford McKinney. Honorary pallbearers were Louis Outlaw and Elmon Outlaw.
