Travis E. Ivey

Travis E. Ivey age 81, of Warren, AR died Tuesday, May 26th at his Home. He was born May 20th, 1934 in Ingalls, AR a son of the late Almoth “Diggie” Ivey and Barbara Nelson Ivey. He was a retired United States Marine Corps Veteran with 20 years of service, where he served in Vietnam as a gunnery sergeant and a retired employee of Jack Winters manufacturing also with 20 years of service. He was a member and deacon at Westside Baptist Church, he was a Sunday school teacher and he loved to play music with his family and friends. Also preceding him in death was a brother Danny Ivey and a sister Kathleen Richards. He is survived by his wife Elois Mann Ivey whom he married Nov. 1st, 1958 in Hermitage, AR, a son John Ivey, Washington, DC and a daughter Lois Ann Ivey Pemberton, Warren, AR. 3 grandchildren Mary Pruitt, Jeff Ivey and Gene Hargis. 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 2:00pm Friday, May 29th at Westside Baptist Church with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Burial with military honors was in Outlaw Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were James Wade Mann, Michael Ivey, Sonny Bethea, William Miller, Tim West and Tony Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were members of Westside Baptist Church, C.B. Thompson, Ted Anders, Dr. Joe H. Wharton and Dr. Althea Conley.
