Hershel Hester, age 83, of Warren, Arkansas died Thursday, June 17, at Bradley County Medical Center. He was born September 29, 1920 at Vick, Arkansas a son of the late Walter Richard Hester and Irene Parker Hester. He served in the United States Army during World War II, was a mechanic and truck driver and a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife Nina Faye Squires Hester whom he married on August 9, l946 at Warren, Ark; 1 son Richard Hester and spouse Rhondah, Lavaca, Ark; 3 grandchildren Tabatha, Plano, Tex, Amanda, Memphis, Tenn. and Max, Russellville, Ark; 2 step grandchildren Kristy, Charleston Ark. and Evan, Lavaca, Ark; 1 step great grandchild Kaye Lee, Charleston, Ark. He was also preceded in death by 3 sisters Ruby Sipes, Juanita Brown and Catherine Boggs. Graveside services were 10:00 am Saturday, June 19, at Oakland Cemetery by Rev. Charles Simpson. Active pallbearers wee Dale Hayden, Ben Garner, Charlie Doss, Derrick Webb, Jason Doggett, Max Hegler and Richard Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Randy Ayers, Billy Denton, J. W. Parnell, Mike Futrell, Vance Sipes, L. D. “Buddy” Hollingsworth and Dr. David Chambers, MD. Memorials preferred to Central Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
