Mercer Embree “Flea” Bayliss, age 85, of Warren, Arkansas, formerly of McGehee, Arkansas died Friday, June 25, at Bradley County Medical Center. He was born February 21, 1919 at Warren, Arkansas a son of the late Fred E. Bayliss, Sr. and Florence Dixon Bayliss. He served in the US Army during World War II, was a member of First Baptist Church of Warren and was a retired conductor for the Missouri-Pacific Railroad Company. Surviving is his wife Elizabeth Ann Banister Bayliss whom he married on May 5, 1941 at McGehee; 4 daughters Cholista Price, Cabot, Ark, Babs Hardwick, Brinkley, Ark, Joy Moseley, Dermott, Ark. and Kim Echlin, Star City, Ark; 1 brother Garland Bayliss, College Station, Tex; 9 grand children Tony Price, Chris Moseley, Heather Moseley Jones, Win Moseley, Brad Hardwick, Laura Beth Hardwick Dean, Sara Echlin Aud, Andy Echlin and Sam Echlin; and 4 great grandchildren Isabella Dean, Ann Mabry Dean, Bayliss Price and Carien Hardwick. Funeral services were 10:00 am Monday, June 28, at Griffin Chapel at McGehee by Rev. Greg Stanley. Marlin Raines sang and Vashti Holt was the organist. Burial was in McGehee Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren. Pallbearers were Tony Price, Chris Moseley, Will Moseley, Brad Hardwick, Andy Echlin and Sam Echlin.
