Ardelia H. McKinney age 94 of Warren, AR died Wednesday, December 11th at the Bradley County Medical Center, she was born February 26, 1919 in Cleveland County AR, a daughter of the late Ivy Harrelson and Marie Reynolds Harrelson. She graduated from New Edinburg High School in 1937 and received her teaching certification from A&M College in Monticello, AR in 1939. Ardelia taught in Pine Knot Elementary School at Rye for 3 years. She was married on June 23, 1940, to the late Versle McKinney. She obtained her husbands employment position at the Bradley Store, while he served in the United States Navy during WWII and later worked for her husband as bookkeeper for 28 years, while he was a logging contractor for Potlatch Lumber Company. She was an avid homemaker and was selected as home room mother throughout her children’s school years. She was actively involved in Calvary Baptist Church serving as church clerk and hostess for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband Versel McKinney who died January 14, 2004, a brother W.E. Harrelson and a son-in-law Johnny Womble. She is survived by her son, Ted McKinney and spouse Maribel, Ruston, LA and a daughter Barbara Womble, Crossett, AR. Four grandchildren, April Michelle Knight, Crossett, AR, Challys Marie Williams and spouse Kevin, Simsboro, LA. Barry Womble and spouse Dixie, Humble, TX, Ryan Womble, Crossett, AR. and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 1:30PM Saturday, December 14th at Frazer’s Chapel with Bro. Phillip Wylie and Bro. Robert “Bob” Powell officiating. Linda Barrett was organist and soloist was Kathy Morman. Burial was in Moseley Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Ryan Eric Womble, Kevin Brian Williams, Blake Allen Shaw, Micah McKinney Williams, John Barry Womble and Klay McKinney. Memorials preferred Calvary Baptist Church 605 Sturgis Street, Warren AR 71671.
