Ruth Carolyn Ederington McLeod, age 84, of Odessa, Texas formerly of Fordyce, Arkansas died Monday at Saddleridge Nursing Center Midland, Texas. She was born June 26, 1929 at Fordyce, Arkansas a daughter of the late Samual Ederington and Janie Busbee Ederington. She was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, held a Masters Degree from The University of Texas Permian Basin and was a retired science teacher for Hood Jr. High School with 25 years of service. She was a member of Highland United Methodist Church and the Medical Center Hospital Women’s Auxiliary. Surviving is a son Don McLeod, Odessa, Texas; a daughter Debra Blakeley and husband Patrick, Midland, Texas; 3 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray McLeod. Graveside services were 1:00pm Saturday, October 26, at Childs Cemetery near Banks, Arkansas with Rev. Gary Maskell officiating. Arrangements were by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were James Rogers, Herman Ginger, Sam Ederington, James Jemison, Charles McLeod and Joe Ederington. Honorary pallbearers were James Ederington, Wayne Ederington, Fred Greenwood, Jerry Rogers and Ronald Yeager.

Message: Debbie and Butch, I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother and my mother (Aniece Jordan McGriff) were 1st cousins. Their mothers were sisters (my grandmother was Mary Buzbee Jordan). I remember seeing your mom several times and also seeing the two of you some when we were much younger. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
