Obituary:
Dannie Carroll Ivey age 74 of Warren, AR died Friday, October 4th at the Baptist hospital in Little Rock. He was born May 26th 1939 in Ingalls, AR, a son of the late Almoth Ivey and Barbara Nelson Ivey. Dannie was a United States Army veteran retiree, he joined the Army in 1957, serving 20 plus years and served in the Vietnam conflict. He served with the Arkansas Department of Corrections for 16 years and the Warren Police Department for 7 Ĺ years. He was a 1957 graduate of Hermitage High School, he faithfully attended the Westside Baptist Church and loved to play the guitar, also in the last few years, Dannie and his older brother Travis, truly enjoyed and loved to play for others who enjoyed their ministry from the music they made. Also preceding him in death was a sister Kathleen Richards. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Josephine Stackhouse Ivey whom he married December 4, 1958, a son Michael Alan Ivey, Fairfax, VA. A daughter Karen Cruce-Smith, Austin, AR. A brother Travis Ivey and spouse Elois, Warren, AR. 5 grandchildren Hunter Cruce, Shelby Smith, Jacob Smith, Travis Sanders and Chelsea Ivey. 2 great-grandchildren Jordin Cruce and Abigail Sanders. A very special sister in law, Dolores Downing, Modesto, CA. Memorial services were 2:00pm Wednesday, October 9th at Westside Baptist Church with Rev. Wayman Mann and Rev. David Bostian officiating. Gwyn McKinney was pianist. Arrangements were by Frazerís Funeral Home. Private burial services were in Union Hill Cemetery at Ingalls. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred Union Hill Baptist Church or Westside Baptist Church.
