James O. Lee, Jr., age 77, of Warren, Arkansas died Sunday, July 11, at Bradley County Medical Center. He was born August 29, 1926 in Hermitage, Arkansas a son of the late James O. Lee, Sr. and Gladys Thompson Lee. He was a 1944 graduate of Hermitage High School, attended the University of Tennessee where he was student manager of the Volunteers football team and a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served 18 months in the Southwest Pacific with the US Navy during World War II. He was manager of the Southern Lumber Company Retail Yard and Potlatch Trucking both divisions of Potlatch Corporation retiring in l986. He served as director of the Arkansas Lumber Dealers Association and director of the Mid-America Lumberman’s Association, Kansas City, Mo. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Warren, member of the Warren Post of the American Legion and member of the Prescott Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving is his wife Mary Johnson Lee whom he married December 25, 1949 in Warren; 3 daughters Linda Dougherty, House Springs, Mo; Susan Pennington, Monticello, Ark. and Rebecca McNulty, Stafford, Va; 1 brother Jerry T. Lee, Britt, Minn; 7 grandchildren Andrew Dougherty, Ann Dougherty and Mary Dougherty all of House Springs, Mo, Michelle Pennington and Laura Pennington both of Monticello, Ark. and Jordan McNulty and Molly McNulty both of Stafford, Va. Graveside services were 10:00 am Wednesday July 14, at Holly Springs Cemetery at Hermitage with Rev. Siegfried Johnson officiating. Arrangements by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Jim Morgan, Randy Morgan, Chris Thompson, Steve Parnell, W.F. “Bill” Sharp and Cecil Carmical. Honorary pallbearers were Guy Leslie, Jr., Baker Peebles, Pat Graham, Wade Graham, Jim Graham, Bill Hoffman, Conrad Deal, Calvin Heird, Sam Johnson, Gary Houser, Mike Lee, Dr. Kerry Pennington and Karen Richardson. Memorials preferred to First United Methodist Church of Warren or the Bradley County Veterans Museum.
