He graduated from Drew Central High School and A & M College (now UAM), both in Monticello, Arkansas. He was retired from Farm Bureau Insurance, where he worked for more than 25 years, as agency manager in Bradley County, Arkansas. He was preceeded in death by both parents, John Austin Jones and Willie Frances Herring Jones, and eight brothers and sisters. Memorial services were 10:00 a.m. Monday May 13, at Frazer’s Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Stanley officiating. Musicians were Joye Splawn, Leah Kindle Kirksey, Glenda Gabbie and Lauren Kindle Brumley. Honorary pallbearers were Carson Jones, SR., James, Mark and Steve Gabbie, Curtis Blankenship, Jr., Bruce, Dr. David and Paul Cash, Charlie Burchfield, Harold McCormick, Dr. Lance Audirsch, Dr. Jimmy, Dr. Bill and John Morrison and Dr. Ed Barlow.
