Jewell Dean Burnham, age 84, of Warren, AR. died Sunday June 17, at Wagnon Place Nursing Home. Born March 12, 1928 in Kingsland, AR. a daughter of the late Thad Childress and Bertia Kee Childress she was a former employee of Mills Grocery, started as the first checker for Mad Butcher in Warren, AR. serving 49 years, 8 months and 5 days, member Mt. Elba Baptist Church and the widow of Arthur “Pete” Burnham who died August 26, 1972. Also, preceding her in death was a brother Elmer D. Childress and a sister Allie Grice. Surviving is a sister Mozelle Sims, Warren, AR. A niece Ouita Jarrett and spouse Bill, New Edinburg, AR. Nephews Jimmy Allen Grice and spouse Nancy, Ashdown, AR., Phillip Sims and spouse Kitty, Check, VA. Host of great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Tuesday June 19, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Rodney Grice officiating. Linda Barrett was organist and soloist was Rev. Rodney Grice. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Bruce Grice, Patrick Marshall, Keith Grice, Randy Wagnon, Kerry Grice and Cameron Offet.
