ROY GENE MEADERS I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 Beloved father and grandfather, Roy Gene Meaders, 84, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, June 2, 2012. Roy Gene was born on December 20, 1927 to Charlie and Renner Meaders in Leslie, Arkansas. He attended Arkansas Tech University. He served as a United States Marine from 1946-1947 and was a proud member of the Marine Corps League. Roy Gene was married for 56 years to his beloved wife, the late Louise Shelby Meaders. He and Louise made Lafayette their home in 1967. Together they owned and operated Meaders Kitchen Equipment for 44 years. He was known among his customers and friends for his hard work, strength and endurance along with his problem-solving skills. He leaves behind a legacy of faith in Jesus Christ and a family that will miss his love, wisdom and strong influence dearly. He is survived by his four children, Karen Jean Meaders, David Scott Meaders, his wife Jan, Teresa Kaye Frusha, and husband Roy, and Elizabeth Louise Langlinais, and her husband Glenn all of Lafayette.He was a loving "Pa-Pa" to each of his 17 grandchildren, Kimberly Langlinais Rhinehart, her husband Bryan , Shelby Meaders, U.S. Navy, his wife Amy, Joshua Deblanc, Jonathan Deblanc, Stephanie Langlinais Martin and her husband, Matt, Jeremy Meaders and his wife, Stacy, Lawrence Deblanc III, Christopher Meaders and his wife, Rachel, Gabriel Frusha, U. S. Air Force and his wife, Melinda, Melody Langlinais Voitier, her husband Thomas, Sean Deblanc, Roy Meaders II, Luke Langlinais and his wife, Sarah, Justin Deblanc, Sarah Meaders, Michael Meaders, and Michelle Langlinais;and 12 great-grandchildren, Jesse, Kate and Abigail Rhinehart, Grant Callihan, Kaley and Kenzie Meaders, James Deblanc, Graham and Lily GraceMartin, Daniel Frusha, and Thomas III and Wesley Gene Voitier. He is also survived by his sisters, Freda and Nadine Meaders; and one brother, Ed Meaders. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Shelby Meaders; his brother, Bill Meaders; his sister, Carolyn Moorehead; and his parents. Graveside services were 12:00 noon, Wednesday, June 6, at Enon Cemetery at Rye with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Arrangements were by Frazerís Funeral Home of Warren. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Joshua, Jonathan, Lawrence, Sean and Justin Deblanc, Shelby, Jeremy, Chris, Roy and Michael Meaders, Gabriel Frusha and Luke Langlinais.
