Rachel Laverne Booker, age 77, of Rison, AR. died Monday May 7, in Little Rock, AR. Born November 1, 1934 in Banks, AR. a daughter of the late Bernard Lucas and Rachel Smith Lucas she was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse, member of First Baptist Church and the widow of Luther Jarrett Booker who died August 18, 1971. They were united in marriage June 17, 1950. Also, preceding her in death were brothers Bobby Ted Lucas, Junior Lucas and a sister Peggy Lindsey. Survivors are 3 sons Larry Don “Stump” Booker, England, AR., Gary Mac Booker, Monticello, AR., Christopher Booker, Rogersville, MO. 1 sister Edna Davis, Camden, AR. 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Thursday May 10, Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Joe McClellan officiating. Linda Barrett was organist and Jim Haygood was soloit. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Sambo Smith, Lester Guice, Jason Mathis, Jerry Williams, Pete Williams and Donny Williams. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. James W. Marsh and Bill Watson.
