Charles Eugene Wooley, age 88, of Harrell, AR. died Saturday October 1, at Pine Hills Health and Rehabilitation in Camden, AR. He was a former resident of Banks, AR. from 1946 until 1970, when he moved to Harrell. He was born December 5, 1922 in Hermitage, AR., the third of four children, to the late Ghen Wooley and Ella Collins Wooley. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps, was a World War II Army veteran who served in the Pacific Theatre, and he retired in 1988 from St. Francis Material Co. in Harrell, AR. He was a Christian and the widower of Mary Evelyn “Sis” Wooley who died December 20, 1994. They were married in February 1943. Also, preceding him in death was a son Henry Eugene Wooley who was killed in Viet Nam in 1968, a brother Ralph Lavon Wooley and a sister Geraldine Payne. Survivors are his wife Ever Lee Vines Wooley whom he married in September 1999, 1 son Andy Wooley and spouse Lee Herrick, Houston, TX., 1 step son Mark Adams, Harrell, AR., 1 sister Carolyn York Guinn, Hermitage, AR., 2 step grandchildren Tyler Adams and Bailey Adams and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Tuesday October 4, at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Linda Barrett was organist. Burial with flag presentation was in McFarland Cemetery at Banks, AR. by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Herman Thompson, Clydine Preston, Robert Franklin, Danny York, Randy York and Paul Huitt. Memorials preferred Bradley County Veterans Museum; 210 N. Main St.; Warren, AR. 71671.
