Verna Lee Rainey Douglass, age 79, of Little Rock, AR. died Wednesday January 19, at St. Vincentís Infirmary in Little Rock, AR. Born July 22, 1931, at Vick, AR. a daughter of the late Samuel G. Rainey and Myrtle Martin Rainey she was retired from Westinghouse, a Baptist and enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was preceded in death by a spouse Sam Bob Douglass, Sr. who died August 31, 1993, a son Sam Bob Douglass, Jr., a brother Robert Rainey and sisters Idell Huitt, Dorothy Boney and Edith Rainey. Survivors are 1 sister Lillian Rainey Colvin, Warren, AR. 2 grandchildren Samuel Douglass and spouse Stacy, James Douglass all of Little Rock, AR. A daughter in law Kathy Douglass, Little Rock, AR. Funeral service was 10:00 a.m. Saturday January 22, at Frazerís Chapel of the Chimes with Rev. Vernon Colvin II, Rev. Charles Cauley, and Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Organist was Linda Barrett. Burial was in Palestine Cemetery near Johnsville, AR. by Frazerís Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Marty Wardlaw, Josh Dowda, Joe Dowda, Chris Parker, Coleman Dowda, and Mitch Wardlaw. Honorary Pallbearers were Earnie Ferrell, Vann Temple, Raymond Daniels, Dale Douglass, Dr. Charles Rodgers, Scott Corker, and Dr. Kerry Pennington.
