Betty Lou Thomason Veazey

Betty Lou Thomason Veazey, age 74, of Godfrey Place, AR. died Friday December 31 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. Born January 5, 1936 in Bradley County, Ar. a daughter of the late Drexel Thomason and Ester Sipes Thomason she was a retired nurse serving with 25 plus years service at local nursing homes, Bradley County Medical Center Home Health in her later years and was a member of Palestine United Methodist Church. Also, preceding her in death are 2 sons Gary “Mike” Veazey, Stephen Veazey and a brother Randall Coats. Survivors are her husband Ray Veazey whom she married October 18, 1952. 3 daughters Pam Veazey, Godfrey Place, AR., Tanya Carter, Monticello, AR., Robin Veazey, Houston, TX., 4 brothers Larry Coats, Bentonville, Ar., Rodney Thomason, White Hall, AR., Ronny Thomason, Monticello, AR. and Tim Coats, White Hall, AR., 1 sister Darlene Freye, Bryant, AR., a daughter in law Jackie Veazey, Godfrey Place, AR., 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Sunday January 2, Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Charles Cauley officiating. Janice Sullivan was organist and soloist were Pam Lowry and Carrie Lea Cauley. Burial was in Palestine Cemetery near Johnsville, AR. by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Billy Smith, Jonathan Smith, Danny Smith, Chris Veazey, Jason Wershiemer and Michael Milliken. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Dichelle George, Earlene Ferrell and members of Bradley County Medical Center Home Health.
