Edward Lee Groves, age 68, of Schlater, Mississippi died Tuesday, December 28 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital, Greenwood, Miss. He was born August 12, 1942 at Dermott, Ark. a son of the late Franklin Washington Groves and Sarah Marguerite Kelly Groves. He served in the US Navy, was a Pentecostal and was a retired Powerhouse worker for International Paper Company. Surviving is a son Frank Groves, Monticello, Ark; 2 daughters Jennifer Groves Stone, Star City, Ark. and Brandy Groves Smith, Schlater, Miss; 1 stepson Thomas Everette, Jr, Greenwood, Miss; 1 stepdaughter Tammy Mims, Coila, Miss; 1 sister Sarah Emilie Groves Jones, New Edinburg, Ark; 6 grandchildren. Funeral services were 3:30pm Sunday, January 2, at Frazerís Chapel with Rev. David Jacks officiating. Janice Sullivan was organist. Burial was in Moseley Cemetery near Warren by Frazerís Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Richard Mims, Bobby Johnston, Paul Bray, Donnie Connard, Blake Hicks and Lester Pinkus. Honorary pallbearer was Herman Groves.
