Obituary:
L. D. “Derl” Willis age 86 of Warren, AR. died Monday, December 13th at Wagnon Place Nursing Center. He was born February 23rd, 1924 in Crossett, AR. a son of the late Lemmie Willis and Lottie Ware Willis. He was a Farmer, Salesman, worked for the A.S.C.S. office and served his country in the United States Army. He also attended the Christ Church in Monticello, AR. Also preceding him in death was a grandson Jonathan Wisener and a brother Joe Willis. Survivors include his wife, Chloteen Sharp Willis. whom he married September 11th, 1944. One son, Donald R. Willis and spouse Barbara, of Benton, AR. Two daughters, Brenda Wisener and spouse John, of White Hall, AR., Marsha Sadler and spouse Jerry, of Siloam Springs, AR. Two sisters, Charlene Doss, Crossett, AR. and Gracie Harris, Crossett, AR. 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services 1:30PM Thursday, December 16th Frazer’s Chapel. Burial Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Visitation 6pm till 8pm Wednesday, December 15th at Frazer’s.

I remember fondly when my son was a child, Mr. Willis dressed up like Santa Claus and went through the neighborhood on Woodlawn St. in Warren. I still have pictures of my son who is grown sitting on his lap in my living room. That is a fond memory in my family. I lost my Dad, Martin Hankins, last year at the age of 89. It is always hard to lose a parent no matter what their age is. Marsha, and the rest of the family have my sincerest condolences.
